PhaseShift
Exclusive to Premium, PhaseShift puts performance where the action is. We built it to bring CPU placement and fast memory caching together, following what your server needs as you play.
Your server might tick over between sessions, then get busy when the group logs in. PhaseShift follows that changing workload.
CPU and memory working together
Modern CPUs have cores with different strengths. Some combine performance cores for demanding tasks with efficiency cores for lighter work. Many dual-chiplet AMD X3D processors have extra 3D cache on only half their cores; the other half use standard cache. That extra cache keeps more frequently used game data close by. PhaseShift makes use of those strengths as your workload changes.
On a shared host, even quiet servers can keep running simulations and background tasks that compete with busy games for AMD's shared 3D cache. PhaseShift places that quieter work on cores outside the larger-cache group, helping keep more cache space available for active servers.
When your server gets busy, PhaseShift gives it priority access to performance cores. At the same time, active Bonus Memory data is cached in fast RAM, cutting trips to storage.
During quieter periods, PhaseShift adjusts CPU placement and moves cached data to NVMe. Its memory cache adjusts as demand changes, making room when running games need more RAM.
Your server keeps its full plan allocation of vCores, physical RAM and Bonus Memory throughout, including during quieter periods. PhaseShift adapts CPU placement and memory caching while keeping those resources available to your server.
We handle the tuning automatically. You get on with the game and whatever your group has planned.
Turbo Start adds an automatic startup boost for games we've tested and enabled, putting spare CPU capacity to work while your server gets ready.
