SCP REAL is a 35-mod exploration, combat, and technology pack for Minecraft 1.12.2, running on Forge 14.23.5.2854. Its mod selection centres on SCP-themed content, facility construction, security, NPCs, and tools for moving around the world.

Recognisable additions include SCP Lockdown and its expansions, SecurityCraft, CustomNPCs, Chisel, Portal Gun, Waystones, and MrCrayfish’s Furniture Mod. World design matters here. A compact facility with controlled NPC numbers will commonly behave better than a sprawling map full of permanently active actors. Avoid leaving unnecessary entities running, and be cautious with large redstone systems or chunk-loading arrangements. Pre-generating areas you expect players to explore can also reduce sudden terrain-generation stutters during events.

For a private group with a modest world, the pack may not need an enormous plan. If you expect a persistent roleplay world, multiple large facilities, frequent combat, or many simultaneous players, choose more headroom rather than sizing for opening night. Because this is an older Forge release, keep the pack’s Minecraft, loader, and mod versions aligned. Updating individual mods independently can introduce mismatches or change world content. Back up before altering the pack, especially once players have built important facilities or placed modded blocks.
