Follow the quest line, build your own route
The quests set out a main path with branches for side machines and other options. That gives your group a shared direction without insisting on one way to make everything: the pack asks for key items, not a particular mod or production method. You can use pipes or ME networks, for example, and choose between different ways to generate power.
There’s plenty to get your hands on, from reworked recipes to multiblock machines that are built in the world. If your friends want to explore as well as automate, structures and bosses offer optional adventures; exploration can help with progression, but it isn’t required.
