Does a Garry's Mod Server Need a Steam Account Token?

Yes, if you want it to appear publicly in the Garry's Mod server list. This is usually called a Steam Game Server Login Token, or GSLT.

Without a Steam account token, a Garry's Mod server starts in LAN-only mode and will not be publicly listed. You can create the token through Steam's game server account page, then add it to the clearly labelled Steam account token setting in CreeperPanel. The panel also keeps the hostname, map, game mode, player limit, server password, and RCON password close by, so the important launch settings are not scattered across several files.

Steam Workshop Collections and Missing Content

Already have a Workshop collection? Add its collection ID in your Garry's Mod settings and CreeperPanel will use it for the server. That makes it much easier to keep a known set of maps, props, tools, and add-ons together instead of adding them one at a time.

If players join and see missing textures, models, or sounds, the server may also need to tell their clients which Workshop resources to download. Pick the Server Around Your Group

A private Sandbox server for a few friends needs something different from a public TTT community full of add-ons and regular players. Eco is there for lighter servers and smaller groups.
