Applied Energistics 2, Oritech, and Create Aeronautics give technical players substantial projects to pursue. Twilight Forest, BetterNether, L_Ender’s Cataclysm, and improved strongholds broaden the places your group can visit. Forbidden Arcanus, Malum, Psi, and Totemic add several magical directions, while decorative mods help builders make the shared base look less like an explosion in a warehouse.

That variety works especially well online: players can split into different specialities, trade what they produce, and regroup for larger expeditions.

Hosting Considerations for Luminosity

Although Luminosity is positioned as a relatively light pack, 219 modern mods still ask more of a server than vanilla Minecraft. Actual demand commonly depends on how many players are online, how quickly they spread across the map, and how elaborate their bases become.

World generation is often the first pressure point. Several players travelling in different directions can create noticeable tick delays, especially during the opening days. Pregenerating the area your group expects to use can make later exploration smoother, but the generation job itself should be run when the server is quiet.

Technical builds can also change performance over time. Large storage networks, busy machinery, item transport, and constantly loaded areas may be perfectly reasonable individually yet add up across several bases. Leaving some spare memory helps, but CPU speed and sensible builds matter just as much; allocating excessive memory is not a universal cure.

Start with moderate view and simulation distances, then increase them only after seeing how your world behaves. Before pack updates, take a backup and check that any manually added mods still match Minecraft 1.21.1 and the required NeoForge release.
