A Busy Pack Built for Shared Worlds

FrogTech combines technology with exploration, new creatures, food, farming, storage, decoration, and touches of magic. It runs on Minecraft 1.20.1 using Forge 47.3.11, with the catalogue listing 265 mods in the current FrogTech – ReFrogged 0.7 release.

Recognisable inclusions include Create and its add-ons, Mystical Agriculture, Aquaculture, Botany Pots, Storage Drawers, Sophisticated Backpacks, and Ars Elemental. That gives a group plenty of room to specialise: one player can build production lines while somebody else explores, farms resources, or makes the base look less like an industrial accident.

Hosting Considerations for FrogTech

CPU load grows with your base

Large Forge packs commonly become more demanding over time. Create contraptions, automated farms, storage systems, mob activity, and loaded chunks can all add tick work. A quiet new world may run comfortably, then behave very differently after several players establish large bases.

Fast CPU performance matters more than simply assigning an oversized memory limit. Keep always-running machines purposeful, avoid loading abandoned areas, and investigate falling tick rate before adding more automation. Restart schedules can help with routine housekeeping, but they do not cure an overloaded build.

Memory, exploration, and updates

FrogTech’s size means it generally needs more memory than a light vanilla-style server. Leave enough headroom for world activity and player joins without allocating memory blindly; excessive allocation can produce longer garbage-collection pauses rather than better performance.

Exploration creates another common pressure point. Several players travelling in different directions force the server to generate and save chunks at once. Setting sensible travel expectations—or preparing commonly used regions in advance with compatible tools—can reduce those bursts.

Before updating the pack, take a backup and check that any manually added mods still match the required Minecraft and Forge versions. Client-only visual additions should not be placed on the server unless their documentation specifically requires it.
