OmegaMC Zoo is a 50-mod Forge pack for Minecraft 1.20.1, built around animals, exploration, and detailed construction without straying too far from familiar Minecraft.

Its wildlife focus is backed by ZAWA, while Oh The Biomes We’ve Gone broadens the landscape available to explore. Chipped and the Macaw’s building mods provide plenty of options for habitats, visitor areas, and ambitious zoo entrances. Farmer’s Delight adds more life around shared bases, while JourneyMap, Lootr, and Bountiful support group exploration.

CreeperPanel also gives you GUI-based mod and configuration management, so routine changes do not require a late-night expedition through server files.

Built for a Shared Zoo Project

This is the sort of pack that benefits from a permanent world. Different players can take charge of habitats, landscaping, food production, exploration, or the inevitable gift shop that becomes larger than the animal enclosures.

A hosted server keeps progress available between sessions and avoids tying the world to one player’s machine. It also makes it easier to manage world files and player inventories when somebody loses something important—or insists they definitely put it in that chest.

Hosting Considerations for OmegaMC Zoo

OmegaMC Zoo is smaller than many kitchen-sink packs, but server performance still depends on what players do with it.

Exploring fresh terrain commonly produces short CPU spikes as chunks and modded biomes generate. When several players travel in different directions, those spikes can overlap. Keeping the world on fast, modern hardware matters more than simply assigning an oversized heap of memory.

Large numbers of animals can also increase server tick time, particularly when they are concentrated into detailed builds alongside farms and other active blocks. Sensible enclosure sizes, controlled breeding, and reasonable simulation distance help a mature world stay responsive.

Memory needs will usually grow with player activity, explored world size, and loaded areas. A small private group may remain fairly modest, while a busy or long-running zoo should leave room to expand. Premium is the better starting range for public communities, frequent exploration, or substantial animal collections.

Before pack updates, take a backup and check that clients and the server are moving to the same release. Forge is not fond of mismatched versions.
