Old MCA SMP is a compact, exploration-led Vanilla+ pack for Minecraft 1.16.5, running on Forge 36.2.20. Its 16 mods keep the experience recognisably Minecraft while adding more character to villages, food, landscapes, and journeys.

Minecraft Comes Alive puts village life at the centre of the server, while Farmer’s Delight broadens farming and cooking. Environmental and Repurposed Structures give players more reasons to travel, with JourneyMap helping everyone keep track of discoveries.

The smaller mod list makes this approachable for mixed groups. Players can settle down and build a community, wander off looking for structures, or focus on familiar survival goals without first studying a giant progression tree.

Hosting Considerations for Old MCA SMP

This is lighter than many large Forge packs, but server demand still depends on how your group plays. A small settlement with a few regular players will usually be easier to run than a busy world where several people explore in different directions at once.

New chunk generation commonly causes short CPU spikes, particularly when players travel quickly or split up. Keeping the server on hardware with good single-thread performance helps world generation feel smoother. Pre-generating the area around your main settlement can also reduce pauses during normal play.
