Ciel runs on Minecraft 1.16.5 with Forge 36.2.21 and remains a beta release. Its opening progression centres on gathering materials from a limited island. Grow trees from saplings, craft a crook, and use silkworms on leaves to produce string. String can then become mesh for a sieve, opening access to useful materials from gravel, sand, dust, and dirt.

Barrels help turn spare saplings and other organic materials into dirt, while a hammer lets you process cobblestone into gravel, sand, and dust. From there, sifting provides ores, seeds, and different trees. Building a cobblestone generator is another early milestone for expanding island production.
