A Magic-First Adventure
F.O.G. of Magic is a Minecraft 1.16.5 pack built around progression through magic, quests, and adventure. Technology exists, but access forms part of the pack’s unusual otherworldly premise rather than simply appearing as an unrestricted toolset.
Its 202 mods include recognisable names such as Astral Sorcery, Nature’s Aura, Mahou Tsukai, ProjectE, Ice and Fire, Alex’s Mobs, and FTB Quests. Together, they give a group plenty of reasons to split up, compare discoveries, and regroup at a shared base.
The pack runs on Forge 36.2.39. Everyone joining should use the same pack release as the server, including matching scripts and configuration files, or connections and recipes may not behave as expected.
Hosting Considerations for F.O.G. of Magic
Performance as the World Grows
Large Forge 1.16.5 packs commonly need more breathing room than vanilla Minecraft, particularly after the early game. New chunk generation, mob-heavy areas, loaded bases, and automated systems can all compete for server tick time.
F.O.G. of Magic also includes mods that encourage extensive exploration and long-term progression. When players travel in different directions at once, the server must generate and save more terrain. Pre-generating frequently used areas can reduce exploration spikes, while sensible world borders help prevent uncontrolled world growth.
Entity counts deserve attention too. Creatures, dropped items, farms, and decorative blocks may seem harmless individually but can become expensive when accumulated across several loaded bases. Regular restarts can tidy up some long-running Java behaviour, but persistent lag should be diagnosed rather than hidden behind increasingly frequent reboots.
Configuration and Pack Changes
Keep the server and player installations on the same F.O.G. of Magic version. Custom scripts from CraftTweaker or KubeJS can affect progression, recipes, and access rules, so replacing files blindly may break the intended experience.
Before updating, take a backup and check whether your group has added extra mods or changed configs. CreeperPanel’s GUI tools make those files easier to review without turning every adjustment into an FTP expedition.
Why Run It with CreeperHost?
Our hybrid VPS platform gives modded Minecraft native CPU performance, helping Forge keep its main server tick moving when the world gets busy.
CreeperPanel includes tools for investigating lag instead of leaving you to guess whether the culprit is chunk generation, entities, or a particular part of the world. If the numbers still look like enchanted runes, our support team brings more than 13 years of experience hosting modded communities and can help you make sense of them.
You handle the adventure. We’ll handle the server-shaped trouble behind it.
Got questions?
Yes. CreeperHost modpack pages link into ordering with the selected pack ready to install. You can also change versions or pick another supported pack later from CreeperPanel.
CreeperPanel is built around real modded servers, including update paths that aim to preserve user configuration changes where supported instead of treating every update like a fresh install.
Eco can work for lighter packs, but Premium is the recommended CreeperHost range for modded Minecraft. Premium gives stronger hardware, Turbo Start, Bonus Memory, and Ask Theo where enabled.
