Zombie Vault Overview
Zombie Vault is a hardcore-flavoured combat and exploration pack for Minecraft 1.16.5, built on Forge 36.2.20. Its 149 mods combine zombie survival with expanded terrain, structures, equipment, food, travel, and light technology.
Biomes O’ Plenty broadens the world, while Better Dungeons, Better Mineshafts, Better Strongholds, and Repurposed Structures give players more reasons to leave shelter. Spartan Weaponry adds combat options, SecurityCraft helps with defensive building, and Farmer’s Delight supports the less glamorous business of keeping everyone fed.
Alex’s Mobs, Mutant Beasts, and Zombie Extreme add further life and danger. Xaero’s Minimap and World Map help groups track explored ground and, ideally, find their way home before dark.
Hosting Considerations for Zombie Vault
Zombie Vault is not the largest Forge pack around, but its mix of world generation, structures, extra creatures, and active combat can make the server work hard in bursts. New terrain commonly causes the biggest CPU spikes, especially when players travel in different directions at the same time.
Pre-generating the area your group expects to use can reduce exploration stutter later. Sensible world borders also stop one enthusiastic traveller from creating gigabytes of terrain while everyone else is defending the base.
Mob-heavy areas may increase tick time, particularly around loaded settlements, farms, or places where creatures accumulate. Avoid leaving large numbers of entities, dropped items, or constantly loaded contraptions unattended. Restart schedules can help long-running Forge servers, but they should complement proper diagnosis rather than hide a recurring problem.
Memory needs will vary with player activity, world size, and configuration. Leave enough headroom for Java and Forge instead of assigning every available gigabyte to the game. Premium plans are the better starting point for an active group, sustained exploration, or a world intended to run for months.
Before changing mods, keep backups and make sure every player uses the matching pack version. Even apparently small changes can affect existing chunks, inventories, or server startup.
