A Magical Skyblock Built for Groups
Lavablock is a relatively compact Minecraft 1.12.2 Forge pack focused on magic, exploration, and progression above an endless lava world. Better Questing gives your group direction while systems from Blood Magic, Thaumcraft, Embers Rekindled, and Tinkers’ Construct provide plenty to develop back at base.
Exploration reaches beyond the starting island through The Twilight Forest, The Betweenlands, The Aether, Mystcraft, and Dimensional Doors. That mix works well on a shared server: some players can build and automate while others disappear through a portal and return with stories, materials, or entirely new problems.
With 49 mods, Lavablock is lighter than many sprawling 1.12.2 packs, but it can still grow into a busy world.
Hosting Considerations for Lavablock
Minecraft 1.12.2 Forge servers usually care as much about strong single-core CPU performance as memory. Lavablock starts reasonably light, though server demand commonly rises as players create larger bases, explore more dimensions, and leave more machinery or magical systems active.
ChickenChunks deserves particular attention. Persistent chunk loading is useful for keeping production running, but too many loaded areas can make the server process blocks that nobody is currently visiting. Set sensible expectations with your group and review chunk loaders if tick times begin to climb.
Dimension-heavy play can also produce short CPU and storage spikes while new terrain generates. Exploring in several directions at once is usually more demanding than revisiting established areas. Keeping the server on fast storage and avoiding unnecessary restarts helps these sessions feel smoother.
