The Final Frontier is a Minecraft 1.12.2 Forge pack built around technology and space exploration. It combines large engineering projects with reasons to leave home, making it a good fit for groups that enjoy building a shared industrial base before pushing farther into the unknown.
Its technology selection includes Immersive Engineering, Thermal Expansion, Mekanism Generators, Flux Networks, and ComputerCraft. ExtraPlanets expands the spacefaring side, while storage, building, weapon, and automation mods give different players useful jobs back at base.

Plan for a world that grows
A 176-mod Forge 1.12.2 server is not impossibly large, but it benefits from more breathing room than a lightweight vanilla world. Memory use commonly rises during startup and exploration, while new terrain generation can produce short bursts of CPU demand. Premium is our recommended range, particularly if several players explore in different directions at once.
Pre-generating the main world can reduce generation spikes during normal play. Space and other dimensions may still need to generate as players reach them, so occasional pauses during first visits are not unusual.
Keep automation tidy
Large machine networks, mob farms, item transport, and always-loaded chunks tend to matter more than the raw mod count. ChickenChunks allows areas to continue running without nearby players, which is handy for factories but easy to overuse. Set sensible rules for chunk loading before every player builds an industrial empire that never sleeps.
If tick time starts climbing, check active machines, loose items, dense mob farms, and heavily loaded bases first. Restart schedules can help with older Forge packs, but they should not replace finding a troublesome build or configuration. Back up the world before pack updates or substantial config changes.
