What Is Not The Bees?

Not The Bees is a quest-led Forge 1.12.2 skyblock pack designed to introduce players to bee-focused modded gameplay. Its 115 mods give groups a guided route into breeding and production while leaving room to build increasingly elaborate systems.

Forestry, Binnie’s Mods, Magic Bees, and Career Bees form the recognisable core. Applied Energistics 2 helps with storage, while IndustrialCraft 2, Botania, ProjectE, XNet, and Flux Networks broaden the options for technology and magic.

Hosting Considerations for Not The Bees

Performance as the island develops

This is a relatively compact pack, but mod count alone does not decide server performance. New worlds are commonly light; established islands can become busier as players add apiaries, machines, storage networks, item transport, and loaded chunks.

Minecraft 1.12.2 also tends to value strong single-core CPU performance. Memory matters, but simply assigning more and more is rarely the best fix. Excessive memory can produce longer garbage-collection pauses, while too little leaves Forge struggling during startup or busy play sessions.

For a small group following the quests at a relaxed pace, requirements are usually modest. Premium becomes the better choice when several players are active together or the island is expected to run substantial automation around the clock.

Keeping an older Forge pack healthy

Keep every player and the server on Not The Bees 2.3.0 with the matching Forge build. Updating individual mods independently can break recipes, quests, or dependencies in curated 1.12.2 packs.

Back up before changing configs, adding mods, or updating the pack. It also helps to limit unnecessary chunk loading and inspect any system that constantly moves items or runs without a player nearby. When tick time rises, the largest automated build is often a better place to investigate than the memory slider.
