Host your Less Tech More Dragon [RETIRED] server

Host Less Tech More Dragon [RETIRED] as a multiplayer server with CreeperHost and give your group an always-on world for dragons, dungeons, magic, and exploration—without leaving someone’s gaming PC running all weekend.

  • Premium is our recommended range for sustained exploration and world generation.
  • Avoid home-hosting slowdowns when players travel in different directions.
  • Keep the world online without tying progress to one player’s computer.
  • Install and manage the pack through CreeperPanel, with config changes preserved during supported updates.
  • Get real help when older Forge mods or world generation start misbehaving.

Less Tech, More Adventure

Less Tech More Dragon is a Forge 1.16.5 pack built around fantasy adventuring rather than sprawling factory chains. Its 107 mods include Ice and Fire, Vampirism, Werewolves, Biomes O’ Plenty, Waystones, Apotheosis, and several dungeon and structure additions.

That mix gives a multiplayer group plenty of reasons to spread out. Some players can hunt dangerous creatures, others can explore underground structures, develop supernatural abilities, or establish shared bases and travel routes. Storage Drawers and FTB Chunks cover useful server basics without turning the pack into an engineering degree.

The pack is retired, so plan around its final LTMD 5.5.2 release and Forge 36.2.4. Everyone should use the same pack and mod versions as the server.

Hosting Considerations for Less Tech More Dragon

Exploration creates the busiest moments

World generation is likely to be the main source of short performance spikes. Biomes O’ Plenty, Better Caves, Better Mineshafts, dungeons, and additional structures all add work when new chunks are created. It becomes more noticeable when several players explore separate areas at once.

A Premium service is the sensible starting point for an active or long-running world. Strong single-core CPU performance matters to older Forge servers, particularly while generating terrain and ticking busy areas. CreeperHost’s hybrid VPS platform runs on modern Ryzen, EPYC, and Intel Ultra hardware chosen with modded Minecraft in mind.

Pre-generating the expected play area can move much of that work away from your busiest sessions. It takes time and extra storage, though, so choose a practical border rather than generating an enormous map nobody will visit.

Treat it as a fixed legacy pack

Retired packs benefit from a cautious approach. Keep matching client and server files, back up the world before changing mods or configs, and avoid casual version swaps halfway through a playthrough. Removing world-generation or creature mods can leave damaged chunks, missing blocks, or broken entities.

Memory needs commonly grow as the explored world, loaded chunks, and active mob population increase. Start with room to spare, then use actual server data rather than guessing. CreeperPanel’s built-in diagnostic tools help identify slow ticks, expensive dimensions, and problem entities when the server starts feeling rough.

Why Run It with CreeperHost?

CreeperPanel handles installation, files, mods, and configuration without making you live in an FTP client. Our performance tools help separate ordinary terrain-generation lag from a persistent mod or entity problem.

On eligible Premium and Pro services, Ask Theo can inspect the current server and panel state, explain what it finds, and prepare safe next steps for your approval. When an old Forge stack does something properly strange, our support team brings more than 13 years of modded hosting experience to the problem.

Got questions?

Yes. CreeperHost modpack pages link into ordering with the selected pack ready to install. You can also change versions or pick another supported pack later from CreeperPanel.

CreeperPanel is built around real modded servers, including update paths that aim to preserve user configuration changes where supported instead of treating every update like a fresh install.

Eco can work for lighter packs, but Premium is the recommended CreeperHost range for modded Minecraft. Premium gives stronger hardware, Turbo Start, Bonus Memory, and Ask Theo where enabled.
