Your Colonial Expansion server, with the useful bits included.

Host your Colonial Expansion server

Host Colonial Expansion as a multiplayer server with CreeperHost and let your group build one colony together, even when its founder is offline. Exploration, settlement planning and restrained technology make this a world designed to grow over time.

  • One-click installation gets the correct pack onto your server quickly.
  • Home hosting leaves the colony unavailable whenever the host PC is off.
  • Casual shared hosting can stumble as players explore and colony activity increases.
  • Premium is the stronger starting point for an ambitious, long-running settlement.
  • Updates preserve your configuration changes, avoiding needless setup work.

Colonial Expansion Overview

Colonial Expansion is a Forge 1.12.2 pack built around establishing a functioning colony in an unforgiving world. Its 86 mods keep the scope relatively focused while leaving room for exploration, combat, building and practical automation.

MineColonies sits at the centre, supported by Structurize for settlement building. Biomes O’ Plenty and Roguelike Dungeons give groups reasons to travel beyond the town walls, while Tinkers’ Construct, Embers and Roots add different routes for tools, crafting and progression.

Storage Drawers, Iron Chests and Simple Storage Network help organise the mountain of materials that any respectable colony eventually accumulates. Or fails to organise, until somebody builds a warehouse.

A Colony Built for Multiplayer

This pack works particularly well when players take ownership of different jobs. One person can plan the settlement, another can gather distant resources, and others can tackle dungeons, farming or production.

A hosted world keeps all of that progress in one place. Builders do not need to wait for a friend to launch their local save, and colony systems can continue running while different members come and go.

CreeperPanel also gives you GUI tools for handling mods and configuration files. That matters on an older Forge pack, where manually swapping files or overlooking a mismatched version can turn a simple change into an evening of troubleshooting.

Hosting Considerations for Colonial Expansion

Colonial Expansion is lighter than many sprawling 1.12.2 kitchen-sink packs, but mod count alone does not determine server demand. MineColonies settlements become busier as they expand, with more citizens, buildings and tasks for the server to track.

Exploration can create short CPU and disk spikes while new terrain, biomes and structures generate. This is usually most noticeable when several players head in different directions at once. Pre-generating the area your group expects to use can make later travel smoother and reduce surprise lag during busy sessions.

Large storage networks, crowded colony centres and machines that run constantly may also add ticking work over a long-lived world. Premium plans are the sensible choice when you expect a substantial colony, frequent exploration or several active players. Smaller groups can begin more modestly, then move up as the world develops.

Keep every client on the same pack release as the server, and take a world backup before pack or configuration changes. Minecraft 1.12.2 Forge packs are dependable once settled, but they do not appreciate casual file mixing.

Why Run It with CreeperHost?

Our Hybrid VPS platform gives modded Minecraft native CPU performance, helping with terrain generation and busy colony ticks.

Built-in diagnostics make it easier to identify whether lag comes from entities, chunks or another part of the server. On eligible Premium services, Ask Theo can inspect the current server state, explain what it finds and prepare safe next steps for your approval.

If the colony still gets weird, our support team brings more than 13 years of experience hosting modded Minecraft communities.

Got questions?

Yes. CreeperHost modpack pages link into ordering with the selected pack ready to install. You can also change versions or pick another supported pack later from CreeperPanel.

CreeperPanel is built around real modded servers, including update paths that aim to preserve user configuration changes where supported instead of treating every update like a fresh install.

Eco can work for lighter packs, but Premium is the recommended CreeperHost range for modded Minecraft. Premium gives stronger hardware, Turbo Start, Bonus Memory, and Ask Theo where enabled.
