Your Hypothermia server, with the useful bits included.
Host your Hypothermia server
Host Hypothermia as a multiplayer server with CreeperHost and give your group an always-on frozen world where survival, quests, machinery, and magic can develop without somebody leaving a home PC running overnight.
- Install the pack quickly through CreeperPanel, with updates designed to retain your configuration changes.
- Keep progress online when the usual self-host has logged off or shut down their computer.
- Avoid home-network bottlenecks as bases, storage systems, and automation grow.
- Use Premium for longer-running worlds, especially when several players build independently.
- Get help from people who know modded Minecraft when old-school Forge gets temperamental.
A Frozen Survival Pack with Room to Grow
Hypothermia is a quest-led survival pack for Minecraft 1.10.2, built around enduring a frozen landscape and managing the threat of deadly cold. Staying warm and establishing shelter shape the opening game, but this is not a small survival challenge that ends once everyone has a cabin.
Its 109 mods combine technology, magic, storage, construction, and sci-fi elements. Recognisable inclusions include Ender IO, Actually Additions, Botania, Ars Magica 2, OpenComputers, Refined Storage, RFTools, Psi, Chisel, and Storage Drawers.
That mixture gives a multiplayer group plenty of ways to divide the work. Some players can tackle quests and survival needs while others build power systems, organise shared storage, experiment with magic, or make the frozen base look less like an emergency bunker.
Hosting Considerations for Hypothermia
Hypothermia uses Forge 12.18.3.2511 on Minecraft 1.10.2. Older Forge packs generally behave best when their tested mod, Forge, and Java combinations are kept together. A well-meant manual upgrade can easily become an evening spent tracing mismatched files, so back up the world before changing mods or configurations.
With 109 mods, memory use is meaningful but usually not the only concern. Server tick time can rise as players spread into separate areas and build larger automation networks. Refined Storage systems, machines, farms, computers, turrets, and dimension-related features can all contribute when used extensively. No single block guarantees lag; scale, chunk activity, and how builds interact matter more.
Premium is our usual recommendation for an established Hypothermia server. It leaves better headroom for a growing world, multiple active bases, and the busier machinery that tends to appear later in a pack.
For smoother play:
- Keep client and server mod versions matched exactly.
- Restart on a sensible schedule rather than waiting for performance to deteriorate.
- Watch permanently loaded chunks and unattended machines.
- Investigate sudden tick problems before simply adding more memory.
- Take backups before config edits, mod changes, or world maintenance.
Why Run Hypothermia with CreeperHost?
Our hybrid VPS platform gives modded servers native CPU performance on hardware selected for Minecraft, helping where Forge cares most: keeping the main server tick moving.
CreeperPanel also includes tools for finding lag sources rather than leaving you to guess which machine or chunk caused the problem. On eligible Premium services, Ask Theo can inspect the current server and panel state, explain what it finds, and prepare safe next steps for you to approve.
We have hosted large modded communities for over 13 years. When Hypothermia gets weird in that distinctly 1.10.2 way, real support staff are available to help you untangle it.
Got questions?
Yes. CreeperHost modpack pages link into ordering with the selected pack ready to install. You can also change versions or pick another supported pack later from CreeperPanel.
CreeperPanel is built around real modded servers, including update paths that aim to preserve user configuration changes where supported instead of treating every update like a fresh install.
Eco can work for lighter packs, but Premium is the recommended CreeperHost range for modded Minecraft. Premium gives stronger hardware, Turbo Start, Bonus Memory, and Ask Theo where enabled.
