Your Tropical Colonies server, with the useful bits included.
Host your Tropical Colonies server
Host Tropical Colonies with CreeperHost and give your group an always-on island where colonies can grow, explorers can roam, and nobody has to leave their own PC running overnight.
- Premium is our recommended range for busy colonies and long-running worlds.
- Home hosting can struggle when colony AI and new terrain generation happen together.
- Casual servers often run short of headroom as settlements and explored regions expand.
- Install and update the pack in one click while keeping your configuration changes.
- Native CPU performance helps keep simulation and world generation moving smoothly.
Build a Colony Beyond the Beach
Tropical Colonies is a 166-mod Forge pack for Minecraft 1.20.1, centred on MineColonies and island survival. It combines settlement building with a broader exploration game, giving players reasons to develop their home while venturing across oceans and into generated structures.
MineColonies and Structurize form the settlement core. Regions Unexplored, Dungeons Enhanced and improved ocean monuments broaden the world, while Farmer’s Delight, Aquaculture and Beachparty add more flavour around food and coastal living.
That mix works especially well for multiplayer. Some players can focus on the colony, others can gather distant materials, and the adventurous ones can disappear over the horizon before returning with trouble.
Hosting Considerations for Tropical Colonies
Colonies Keep the Server Busy
MineColonies worlds commonly become more demanding over time. Citizens, pathfinding, construction and active colony chunks all add regular server-side work. Several developed colonies will generally need more CPU and memory headroom than a fresh world with one small settlement.
Premium is the sensible starting point for most groups, particularly if you expect multiple colonies or frequent play. Faster CPU performance matters here because adding memory alone does not fix slow game ticks.
Exploration Creates Short Bursts of Load
Terrain and structure generation can briefly increase CPU use when players sail into untouched areas. If several people explore in different directions at once, those bursts can become noticeable. Pre-generating the region you expect to use can reduce disruption during busy sessions.
Keep simulation distance reasonable, avoid leaving unnecessary areas active, and watch performance before increasing settings. Built-in CreeperPanel diagnostics can help identify whether lag is coming from world generation, colony activity or a particular part of the server.
Allow extra time for first startup after installation or a major update. Back up the world before changing pack versions, and make sure every player updates to the matching version before reconnecting.
Why Run It with CreeperHost?
Our hybrid VPS platform runs on Ryzen, EPYC and Intel Ultra-based liquid-cooled hardware tuned for modded Minecraft, giving colony simulation the strong CPU performance it benefits from.
CreeperPanel includes practical lag diagnostics, while eligible Premium and Pro servers can use Ask Theo to inspect current server state, explain likely causes and prepare safe next steps for your approval. If things still get strange, our team brings more than 13 years of modded hosting experience to the conversation.
Got questions?
Yes. CreeperHost modpack pages link into ordering with the selected pack ready to install. You can also change versions or pick another supported pack later from CreeperPanel.
CreeperPanel is built around real modded servers, including update paths that aim to preserve user configuration changes where supported instead of treating every update like a fresh install.
Eco can work for lighter packs, but Premium is the recommended CreeperHost range for modded Minecraft. Premium gives stronger hardware, Turbo Start, Bonus Memory, and Ask Theo where enabled.
