UfoCraft combines exploration, combat, and practical engineering without turning the server into an enormous kitchen-sink pack. Its 35 mods make it comparatively approachable for a small group, while still offering enough progression to keep a shared world busy.

Roguelike Dungeons and Doomlike Dungeons give players reasons to travel and fight together. Tinkers’ Construct supports custom tools and equipment, while Immersive Engineering adds machinery and larger building projects. Hosting Considerations for UfoCraft

UfoCraft is lighter than many modern modpacks, but multiplayer still places demands on the server that are easy to miss during a short single-player test.

Exploration is usually the first pressure point. Dungeon generation, extra biomes, and several players travelling in different directions can create brief CPU and disk spikes as the world expands. Keeping view distance sensible helps, while pregenerating the area your group expects to explore can move much of that work away from live play. Pregeneration does increase world size, so plan backups accordingly.

Later, Immersive Engineering machinery, storage systems, farms, and other constantly active builds can add ticking work. Individual machines are rarely the whole problem; sprawling bases and permanently loaded automation are the more common cause. Encourage players to switch off unused systems and avoid scattering active bases across excessive numbers of loaded chunks.

This pack should not require the same headroom as a huge modern collection, but CPU speed still matters more than simply assigning excessive memory. Leave enough memory for active players and explored terrain without giving Java far more than it needs. Regular restarts and world backups are also worthwhile for a long-running legacy Forge server.
