A New Beginning Overview
A New Beginning is a map-based hardcore questing pack for Minecraft 1.7.10, running on Forge 10.13.4.1614. Its 120 mods mix substantial technology and magic progression with tighter survival systems.
Recognisable names include Applied Energistics 2, BuildCraft, Ender IO, Thermal Expansion, Immersive Engineering and Big Reactors. Blood Magic, Botania and Thaumcraft provide magical routes alongside the machinery. EnviroMine, Hunger Overhaul and Spice of Life help make survival more demanding than an ordinary kitchen-sink playthrough.
That combination works particularly well for a regular group: players can divide projects, compare quest progress and specialise without leaving the world trapped on someone’s desktop.
Hosting Considerations for A New Beginning
Minecraft 1.7.10 packs often care as much about strong CPU performance as available memory. Early play may be fairly modest, but established bases commonly add processing lines, storage networks, farms, power systems and other blocks that perform regular server-side work.
Applied Energistics 2 networks, Ender IO conduits and large collections of Thermal Expansion or BuildCraft machines are normal parts of progression. They are not automatically troublesome, but sprawling systems and machines left running in loaded chunks can gradually reduce tick speed. Premium plans are the sensible starting point for groups expecting a long campaign or several active builders.
Memory should leave room for Forge, the pack and the active world without pushing the Java process into constant cleanup. Simply assigning excessive memory is not a cure for lag; good single-thread CPU performance and sensible base design usually matter more.
Because this is a map-based quest pack, treat the world as part of the pack rather than disposable terrain. Back it up before pack changes, configuration edits or major administrative work. Older modpacks can also be particular about matching client and server versions, so everyone should join with the same release.
