A Classic Tech Pack with Plenty of Detours
Tech Savvy combines recognisable 1.7.10 engineering with magic, exploration, building, and quests. Applied Energistics 2, Mekanism, Ender IO, Thermal Expansion, BuildCraft, and Immersive Engineering give players several routes into power, storage, processing, and automation.
There is more to do than assemble machines. Thaumcraft, Blood Magic, and Botania add magical progression, while Biomes O’ Plenty, Tinkers’ Construct, Chisel, and Bibliocraft help turn a functional base into somewhere your group might actually want to live.
With 79 mods, it is relatively compact for its era, but the interconnected systems still give a server plenty to track as players spread out and build.

Automation changes the load
A fresh Tech Savvy world is generally easier to run than a huge modern kitchen-sink pack. The picture changes as bases grow. Large item networks, pipe systems, farms, machinery, and loaded chunks can keep working even when nobody is actively touching them.
That usually makes CPU performance more important than simply assigning excessive memory. Healthy memory headroom matters, but extra RAM will not rescue a base filled with machines checking inventories every tick. Sensible chunk loading and tidy automation make a noticeable difference.
For a small group building at a relaxed pace, requirements may stay modest. Premium is the safer starting point when several players will maintain separate bases, explore heavily, or leave complex systems running around the clock.
Keep the old stack intact
Tech Savvy uses Minecraft 1.7.10 with Forge 10.13.4.1614. Packs from this generation can be sensitive to changed mod versions, removed dependencies, and mismatched client files. Back up the world before altering the pack, and change one thing at a time.
As the world matures, watch tick performance rather than guessing. Lag can come from one troublesome machine network or repeatedly loaded area, not the whole server.
