Hosting Considerations for Refuge

Refuge is not enormous by mod-count standards, but older Forge packs can still become CPU-sensitive as a world matures. Automation networks, item transport, crop systems, loaded areas, and loose entities commonly matter more than the number of players standing online.

For a small group, sensible machine layouts and regular restarts usually go a long way. As the base grows, avoid leaving unnecessary farms running continuously, keep dropped items under control, and investigate persistent tick lag before simply adding more memory.

Memory should leave room for Forge, the world, and active machinery without being set excessively high. Too much assigned memory can produce longer garbage-collection pauses on older Minecraft versions, so balanced settings generally beat choosing the largest number available.
