Magic Farm 2 is a relatively small, tech-led pack with 32 mods, built for Minecraft 1.6.4 and Forge 9.11.1.965. Its size makes it approachable, but there is still plenty for a group to develop over a long-running world.
Applied Energistics brings organised storage, while Thermal Expansion and MineFactory Reloaded support increasingly automated bases. Forestry, Tinkers’ Construct, Mariculture, Natura, Mystcraft, and BiblioCraft broaden the pack with production, tools, exploration, and building options.

Hosting Considerations for Magic Farm 2
Magic Farm 2 is lighter than many modern modpacks, so a small group will not usually need an enormous server. Strong single-thread CPU performance still matters, however, particularly once several players have automated bases running in different areas.
Chunk loaders and always-active machines can gradually raise tick time. Mystcraft dimensions and widespread exploration can also increase world size, backup time, and disk use. These are common patterns rather than guaranteed problems; how your players build matters more than the pack’s raw mod count.
Because this is a Minecraft 1.6.4 pack, compatibility deserves some care. Keep the Forge build, mods, and client files matched. Avoid casually replacing individual mods or changing Java versions without a backup, as legacy packs are less forgiving of version drift.
Start modestly for a few friends, then watch server timings as the world develops.
