What Is BrassBound Skies?

BrassBound Skies is a large NeoForge 1.21.1 pack centred on Create Aeronautics and Sable. Its signature attraction is building functional airships and taking Create contraptions beyond the factory floor.

There is plenty to do when you land, too. Applied Energistics 2 and Mekanism support substantial automation and storage systems, while Ars Nouveau and other magic mods offer different progression paths. Ice and Fire, expanded terrain, new structures, and additional creatures give explorers reasons to keep travelling.

It is a broad pack rather than a narrow quest through one technology tree. That works especially well for multiplayer groups: builders, engineers, adventurers, and spellcasters can each pursue their own projects while contributing to a shared world.

Plan for a long-running, heavyweight world

Large modern modpacks commonly need strong single-core CPU performance as well as generous memory. BrassBound Skies also encourages moving contraptions, automated production, storage networks, and extensive exploration. Any of these can become demanding when built at scale, particularly when several players are active in different areas.

Premium is the sensible starting point for most groups. Busy communities or ambitious factory builders may need to move higher as the world grows. Avoid allocating every available gigabyte to Java; the server still needs breathing room outside the game process.

Keep the pack matched

BrassBound Skies uses Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.x, and Java 21. Player and server versions should stay aligned, especially for core content such as Create Aeronautics and Sable.

The pack’s rendering stack is not compatible with Iris-style shader loading. Sodium is supported, but players should avoid adding Iris when troubleshooting loading hangs.

As your server matures, watch chunk generation and permanently loaded factory areas. Sensible chunk-loading limits and tidy automation often help more than simply adding memory.
