Exploration Comes in Bursts

This is not among the largest modpacks, but exploration can still ask a lot from the server. Generating caves, dungeons, monuments, villages, and other structures commonly creates short CPU-heavy periods, especially when several players travel in different directions.

Pre-generating the area around spawn can reduce those interruptions for an established community. Sensible world borders also stop an enthusiastic Waystone network from becoming an accidental tour of several gigabytes of fresh terrain.

Watch What Stays Loaded

As the world matures, entity-heavy farms, large animal collections, dropped items, and force-loaded chunks are more likely to affect tick speed than the raw mod count. FTB Chunks is useful, but allowing every player to keep large areas loaded can leave the server simulating bases nobody is visiting.

Memory needs also tend to rise as the world grows and more players spread out. Premium gives busier groups better headroom than a casual setup, particularly when exploration and boss fights happen at the same time.

Keep the server and every client on matching pack versions. Before larger pack or NeoForge updates, take a backup and test carefully; world-generation and content changes deserve more caution than a routine restart.
