Create machinery, storage networks, farms, pets, villagers, and other active entities can gradually increase tick load. A few machines are rarely the problem; large bases packed with constantly running contraptions are where slower processors often begin to show their age.

Encourage players to switch off machinery they are not using and avoid concentrating every automated build into one chunk. Performance also depends on player habits, explored world size, and configuration, so there is no universal memory setting that fits every server.
