Spore Infection at a Glance
Spore Infection is a 60-mod horror and adventure pack for Minecraft 1.20.1, running on Forge 47.4.10. It mixes dangerous creatures and stronger enemies with weapons, exploration, transport, storage, security, and technology.
Recognisable additions include Born in Chaos, Alex’s Mobs, Illager Invasion, Simply Swords, Mekanism, SecurityCraft, Waystones, and Sophisticated Backpacks. YUNG’s Better Caves and Better Nether Fortresses give groups more reasons to travel beyond their starting area.
Our installer handles the initial pack setup, while updates can preserve your configuration changes. That matters when you have adjusted difficulty or other server settings and do not want an update wiping your work.
Hosting Considerations for Spore Infection
Although 60 mods is not enormous by modern modpack standards, the type of activity matters more than the raw number. Hostile mob AI, combat, terrain generation, and machines can all ask more of the server at different times.
Exploration and hostile mobs
New chunks commonly cause short CPU spikes, particularly when several players head in different directions. Expanded caves, structures, creatures, and hostile encounters can add to that pressure. Keeping the group reasonably close during early exploration—or pregenerating the area you expect to use—can make play smoother.
Large concentrations of mobs may also affect tick rate. If performance drops around farms, settlements, or defended bases, check entity counts before simply adding more memory.
Machines and long-running worlds
Mekanism machines and generators can increase background processing as players build larger systems. A few machines are rarely the issue; sprawling bases with many active blocks, loaded chunks, and item movement are more likely to need attention.
Memory needs will vary with player activity, world size, and configuration. Leave headroom rather than choosing a plan that only just starts the pack. For an active group planning a lasting world, we recommend Premium for stronger CPU performance and room to grow.
Before pack updates, back up the world and confirm everyone is using the matching pack release. Modded servers are particularly unforgiving of mismatched versions.
Why Run It with CreeperHost?
Our Hybrid VPS platform delivers native CPU performance on hardware selected for modded Minecraft, helping when combat, chunk generation, and machinery all become active together.
CreeperPanel gives you GUI tools for mods and configs, plus diagnostics when tick time starts climbing. On eligible Premium services, Ask Theo can inspect the current server and panel state, explain what looks wrong, and prepare safe next steps for you to approve.
We have hosted modded communities for more than 13 years, and real support staff are available when the problem turns out to be stranger than “add more RAM.”
Got questions?
Yes. CreeperHost modpack pages link into ordering with the selected pack ready to install. You can also change versions or pick another supported pack later from CreeperPanel.
CreeperPanel is built around real modded servers, including update paths that aim to preserve user configuration changes where supported instead of treating every update like a fresh install.
Eco can work for lighter packs, but Premium is the recommended CreeperHost range for modded Minecraft. Premium gives stronger hardware, Turbo Start, Bonus Memory, and Ask Theo where enabled.
