The Hidden Verity is designed around a gradual descent rather than constant danger. Its horror comes from the shift in tone, the uncertain behaviour of its central entity, and the possibility that the friendly companion may not remain friendly.

Under certain conditions, Verity can transform into the Verity Demon, a powerful hostile creature that relentlessly hunts the player. This creates a sharp change from relaxed survival to urgent escape and makes familiar locations feel far more threatening.
