Your GroundZero's Zombie Apocalypse server, with the useful bits included.
Host your GroundZero's Zombie Apocalypse server
Host GroundZero's Zombie Apocalypse as a multiplayer Forge server with CreeperHost, giving your group an always-on world for armed survival, fortified bases, roaming undead, and shared progression. The pack was built around a specific custom server, so its private plugins are not included—but its recognised Forge mods can still form the basis of your own apocalypse server.
- Install the catalogue build quickly without assembling 92 mods by hand.
- Avoid leaving a home PC running whenever friends want to play.
- Keep hordes and exploration off your home connection, where they can cause lag for everyone.
- Use Premium for a busy or long-running world with stronger modded-server performance.
- Get real help when Forge, configs, or world behaviour become troublesome.
What to Expect from GroundZero's Zombie Apocalypse
This Minecraft 1.20.1 pack runs on Forge 47.4.10 and blends horror, combat, survival, building, and light technology. Recognisable additions include The Hordes, Zombie Awareness, Mutant Monsters, First Aid, PlayerRevive, SecurityCraft, Create, Farmer’s Delight, Sophisticated Backpacks, and Simple Voice Chat.
That mix supports tense group play: defend a settlement, recover downed teammates, secure valuable storage, and build machinery once survival is under control. Combat Roll and Better Combat also make encounters more active than standard Minecraft fights.
The original experience relies on private plugins and custom server systems. Hosting the modpack elsewhere will not reproduce those unavailable features automatically. CreeperPanel does, however, make the supplied mods and configuration files easier to manage without digging through every folder manually.
Hosting Considerations for GroundZero's Zombie Apocalypse
With 92 mods, this is not enormous by modern modpack standards, but zombie-heavy worlds can still become demanding. Large numbers of active mobs, several players exploring in different directions, and loaded Create machinery commonly increase CPU use and tick time.
Premium is the sensible starting range for an established group, particularly if players will spread out, build automated bases, or keep the world running for months. Smaller private groups may need less, but allowing some headroom is better than sizing only for the first quiet evening.
A few practical habits help:
- Keep the server and every player on the same pack release and Forge version.
- Limit unnecessary chunk loading, especially around large Create builds.
- Pre-generate the area your group expects to explore to reduce generation spikes during busy sessions.
- Review mob and horde settings carefully before increasing them; more undead means more entity processing.
- Configure Simple Voice Chat’s required network port if you intend to use proximity voice.
Shaders such as Complementary Reimagined and Hysteria are handled by players’ computers rather than the server. They may affect client frame rates, but allocating extra server memory will not make a player’s shaders run faster.
Why Run It with CreeperHost?
Our hybrid VPS platform gives Forge native CPU performance on hardware chosen for modded Minecraft. Built-in diagnostics help identify slow ticks, excessive entities, and troublesome chunks instead of leaving you to guess.
On eligible Premium services, Ask Theo can inspect the current server and panel state, explain what it finds, and prepare safe next steps for your approval. When the apocalypse gets stranger than expected, real CreeperHost support is still here too.
Got questions?
Yes. CreeperHost modpack pages link into ordering with the selected pack ready to install. You can also change versions or pick another supported pack later from CreeperPanel.
CreeperPanel is built around real modded servers, including update paths that aim to preserve user configuration changes where supported instead of treating every update like a fresh install.
Eco can work for lighter packs, but Premium is the recommended CreeperHost range for modded Minecraft. Premium gives stronger hardware, Turbo Start, Bonus Memory, and Ask Theo where enabled.
