Icarus Protocol Overview

Icarus Protocol is a 79-mod Vanilla+ and technology pack for Minecraft 1.21.1, running on NeoForge 21.1.235. It keeps familiar Minecraft at the centre while adding guided goals, practical tools, expanded building choices, and mechanical automation.

Create is a major part of the pack, supported by additions for factories, decoration, storage, trading, and travel. FTB Quests gives groups some direction, while Chipped, Rechiseled, Supplementaries, and Create Deco offer plenty for dedicated builders. Sophisticated Backpacks and Sophisticated Storage help keep communal supplies under control, and Waystones make established locations easier to revisit.

• New terrain: Fast exploration can cause brief tick spikes while chunks generate. Pregenerating the expected play area can make group expeditions smoother.
• Create builds: Large contraptions and densely packed processing lines add ongoing tick work. Spreading major factories across sensible areas is generally kinder to the server.
• Chunk loading: FTB Chunks can keep selected areas active without players nearby. Useful, certainly—but loading every farm and factory around the clock soon adds up.
• Entities and storage: Loose items, villagers, mobs, and oversized sorting systems are frequent sources of slowdown in established worlds.
• Updates: Back up the world before changing pack versions, especially when scripts, recipes, or world-generation mods may have changed.

Memory matters, but strong single-thread CPU performance is often just as important for modded Minecraft. Leave enough headroom for Java’s garbage collection rather than allocating every available gigabyte.
