FalsityPack as a Shared Horror World

FalsityPack is a focused 55-mod horror pack for Minecraft 1.20.1, running on Forge 47.4.10. Its retro Alpha-style presentation is reinforced by darkness, fog, environmental audio, and the central Falsity mod.

Advanced Darkness, AmbientSounds, EnhancedVisuals, and Sound Physics Remastered contribute to the atmosphere, while Terralith gives groups more terrain to explore. Sophisticated Backpacks adds practical shared-world storage, and proximity voice chat can make splitting up either entertaining or a very poor decision.

The pack also includes several rendering and optimisation additions. That keeps its scope relatively focused, although a permanent server still benefits from careful setup and monitoring as the world grows.

Hosting Considerations for FalsityPack

Forge servers commonly rely heavily on strong single-core CPU performance, especially while generating new chunks. Terralith makes exploration worthwhile, but several players travelling in different directions can produce short bursts of extra server load. Pre-generating the area your group expects to use can reduce those first-visit pauses.

FalsityPack is smaller than many large progression packs, so a small private group will often have moderate memory needs. Actual usage can still increase with explored terrain, loaded chunks, player inventories, and longer sessions. Watch real usage rather than assigning excessive memory immediately; too much can sometimes make Java garbage collection less pleasant, not more.

Many of the pack’s shaders, animations, fog effects, and visual enhancements run primarily on each player’s computer. Lowering those settings can improve client FPS, but it will not fix low server tick rate. Keeping that distinction clear saves a great deal of fruitless config poking.

If you use the included voice chat, confirm its server-side networking settings and keep everyone on the same pack version. Take a backup before pack, Forge, or world-generation changes.
