Guts81_Dungeons&Dragons is a large Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge pack built around dangerous exploration, dungeon crawling, character progression, and a medieval fantasy atmosphere. Hard mode is intended to put up a serious fight, making shared preparation and recovery especially valuable.

Its 312 mods include recognisable additions such as Apotheosis, FTB Quests, Lootr, Minecraft Comes Alive, Dungeons and Taverns, Towns and Towers, and several of YUNG’s improved structures. Together, they create plenty of reasons to leave the safety of your settlement.

Hardcore Revival also gives groups another way to handle defeat, although server owners should still agree on difficulty and death rules before everyone becomes attached to their gear.

Planning Your Server

This pack works best when the group treats the world as a continuing campaign rather than a disposable map. Decide who can change difficulty and configuration, schedule backups before major updates, and keep an eye on how quickly players spread across the world.

Lootr can make exploration friendlier for groups by handling structure loot per player, but widely scattered parties still create more terrain and keep more areas active. A little coordination during the first few sessions can prevent unnecessary strain while everyone establishes bases and travel routes.

Pack updates should be applied deliberately. Back up the world first, retain your chosen settings, and make sure every player moves to the same pack version before reconnecting.

Startup commonly takes longer, memory use is higher, and Forge needs breathing room while loading registries, scripts, structures, and world data. World generation is likely to be one of the busier jobs. Dungeon, settlement, biome, Nether, and improved-structure mods all add work when fresh chunks are created. Rapid travel into unexplored territory can therefore cause temporary tick delays, especially when multiple players split up.

Existing bases may also become heavier as villagers, mobs, storage systems, and item drops accumulate. That does not mean you need to ban ambitious builds; it means occasional profiling is more useful than guessing. Clear abandoned entities, investigate overloaded chunks, and avoid changing performance-related configs without a backup.

For updates, keep the exact Minecraft and Forge versions expected by the pack. Mixing loader builds or casually removing mods can prevent startup or damage an established world.
