Basilisk is a Vanilla+ adventure pack for Minecraft 1.21.11 using NeoForge. It broadens the Overworld with more terrain, structures, creatures, materials, building choices, farming, fishing, and combat content while keeping recognisable Minecraft at its centre.

Survival asks for more attention than usual. Warmth, thirst, seasons, and altered day and night lengths make preparation matter, particularly when players travel away from established bases. More than 30 quests point towards mechanics and progression without turning the pack into a step-by-step checklist.

Exploration and world growth

Exploration-focused packs commonly put their greatest short-term pressure on the server when players move quickly into new terrain. Generating several areas at once can cause brief tick delays, especially when a group heads in different directions.

Keeping view and simulation distances sensible usually helps. If your community plans large expeditions or expects a busy launch, generating a practical starting region ahead of time can also reduce terrain-generation spikes. Avoid generating far more world than you expect to use, as that creates larger saves and longer backups for little benefit.

Basilisk is designed around extended play rather than a quick completion run. Over time, explored terrain, player builds, farms, entities, and loaded machines or systems from the pack can all add to the server’s work. This is why we recommend starting on Premium rather than treating the server like a temporary vanilla world.

Updates and configuration

Keep regular backups before pack updates, particularly once players have travelled widely or invested heavily in builds. NeoForge mods and saved worlds should always be updated together through the pack’s intended release rather than by replacing individual files at random.
