Exploration creates bursts of work
Pixelrus is not enormous by modpack standards, but Pixelmon and several world-generation mods make processor performance important. When players head in different directions, the server may need to generate multiple areas while also tracking creatures, players, and loaded chunks.
World pregeneration can reduce those spikes for planned public areas. Sensible view and simulation distances also help, especially when players spread far apart. Fast native CPU performance usually matters more here than simply assigning excessive memory.
Plan for a world that keeps growing
Exploration-heavy servers accumulate region files quickly. Storage use, backup times, and restart duration commonly increase as the community uncovers more terrain. Regular backups are worth keeping before pack updates or major configuration changes.
Memory needs vary with player activity, loaded areas, entity counts, and any extra mods you install. A quiet private group may need considerably less than an active community with several explorers online. Start with breathing room, monitor actual use, and adjust rather than guessing high or running at the limit.
Keep the server and player installations on the same Pixelrus release. NeoForge, Pixelmon, and world-generation changes are poor candidates for improvised mid-session updates.
