A Shared Horizon (New Dawn) World

Horizon combines Cobblemon with exploration, building, cooking, transport, and a relaxed countryside feel. It runs on Minecraft 1.21.1 using NeoForge and contains 375 mods, so there is plenty for a group to divide between them.

Some players can collect and train Pokémon while others establish farms, furnish towns, follow quests, or connect distant bases. Create supports more involved building projects, Immersive Aircraft opens another way to travel, and Sophisticated Backpacks helps when expeditions run longer than expected.

The expanded terrain and structures reward travelling together rather than staying around spawn. Meanwhile, the broad selection of decorative blocks and foods gives builders and farmers reasons to keep improving shared settlements between adventures.

World generation creates the busiest moments

Exploration-heavy packs commonly place their greatest demand on the server when players travel in different directions and generate fresh chunks simultaneously. Aircraft and other fast transport can make that happen more often. Strong single-core CPU performance matters here, particularly when the server is also ticking Cobblemon entities, machinery, farms, and loaded bases.

Pre-generating the area your group expects to use can reduce terrain-generation spikes later. It also helps to set a sensible world border before enthusiastic pilots scatter across thousands of chunks.

Bundled shaders mainly affect each player’s computer rather than the server. If somebody has low frame rates while the server tick rate remains healthy, their graphics settings are the first place to look.

Memory needs tend to grow with the world

A 375-mod pack is not one we would treat like a lightweight vanilla server. Memory use commonly rises as players explore, keep more chunks loaded, collect entities, and build increasingly complex Create systems. Leave headroom rather than allocating only enough for the first evening.

Performance also depends on what your group builds. Large concentrations of moving contraptions, automated farms, storage systems, and entities can be more troublesome than the raw player count. Keep the pack’s intended mod and configuration set consistent across clients and the server, and take a backup before major updates.
